NEWS ON BAPTISM
Seth C. was baptized on Sunday the 25th of April, 2010 during the worship service.
What a grand day in celebration which signifies that a young man has come to know Christ and desires to follow Christ
in Baptism as a witness of his faith and obedience to the Scriptures.
Following the worship service we had a Fellowship Pot Luck. There was GREAT food and
fellowship! Congratulations and blessings go to Seth!
Be sure to use the link below to access the photos taken on that Sunday morning.

BLESSINGS IN WORSHIP AT FCC
Sunday worship services are always a blessing or should be for us as Christians. Paul wrote:
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage
one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25 NIV)
When we aren’t present we miss blessings, both personal and otherwise. So it was on Sunday
morning the 11th of April when teenager Seth C. came forward seeking Baptism .
Jesus made baptism part of the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19,20 therefore from that we can
say it is an important step in the Christian life which is further stated in the many places where it is mentioned in the
New Testament such as: Matthew 3:5-15; Luke 3:21; John 3:23; Acts 2:38, 8:37, 18:8, 19:4 and many others. Finally, Peter wrote
in 1 Peter 3:21 that baptism is the answer of good conscience towards our God.
Everyone rejoiced with Seth in his decision to follow Christ in Baptism! We look forward to
sharing that day with him sometime in the next few weeks.

EASTER EGG HUNT
Children of all ages enjoyed a time of hunting Easter eggs at the church on Saturday
morning the 3rd of April. It was a beautiful day for this event as parents, grandparents and others watched.
Our young adults and several others from the church planned and organized
the Easter egg hunt. A total of some 600 plastic eggs were stuffed with candy
and placed outside in the church yard. There were actually two separate egg hunts, one to allow the younger
children a fair chance to find eggs and then another hunt for the older children. It was enjoyable to watch
both groups fill their buckets with eggs!

| PALM SUNDAY AT FCC, 2010 |

|
On Palm Sunday everyone brought their Palm fronds and placed them in front of the Communion Table symbolizing our
welcoming of Jesus into our life. May we serve Him all of our days.
Not everyone was joyous though as little Gracyn was unhappy that there was no children's sharing time that Sunday morning.
Later Grandma Patty shared with Ted why she was so upset. Even little ones get into a routine just like us as adults.

Our worship service on the 14th of February was a blessing! The weather finally cooperated
and allowed 56 people of all ages to attend Church. Visitors included Cam’s girlfriend, Stephanie, a couple teens brought
friends and the one who stole the show after church was little Squire Andrew Barnes who is just a week old. What a precious
little one! It was a GREAT day of worship.

FALL FESTIVAL NEWS
On Saturday the 24th of October FCC sponsored their 2nd Fall Festival which was held in
Fillmore just south of the church in a neighbors vacant lot on Florence street. Fliers were passed out in the Fillmore
area the previous Monday inviting parents and children to this fun event.
A good number of people started arriving Saturday afternoon at 5:30pm. We ate hot
dogs and had other food furnished courtesy of the Church and its members. Following this, games were played and the
children had fun in the bounce tent. After dark a hayride was availiable for those who chose to go.
It was a fun night for everyone! Christians can and do have fun!
Thanks goes to those persons within our Church who planned and organized this wholesome
event for all!

PASTOR TED & JAN'S 1st WEEK AT FILLMORE CHRISTIAN CHURCH
The Welch's arrived in Savannah on the 21st of September. Many Church people were on hand to help
them off load the truck which contained their household goods. In less that 1 & 1/2 hours that task was completed and
lunch was served courtesy of the members of the Church.
That first week was spent unpacking and by Saturday over 85% of the boxes were unpacked within their home on Pearl St.
Jan is one of those persons who is organized and likes to have things in an orderly fashion. Ted assisted her where he could.
On Sunday the 27th the members of the Church welcomed Ted & Jan by holding a dedication service and
then sharing gifts with them. This part of the worship service led by John was very meaningful to them as a couple. Following
worship Bill and Nancy Hare hosted Ted & Jan at the Fireman’s Lunch in downtown Fillmore. It was wonderful
and productive day!
Ted & Jan feel blessed to be in Fillmore and to have ministered at Zearing Christian Church in Zearing, Iowa.
Both the Sunday of the 27th at Fillmore Christian Church and the previous Sunday at Zearing were high points in ministry for
them.
GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME!
FAREWELL SUNDAY AT
